Betsy Schneider is a photo-based artist and educator whose work addresses issues of the body, culture, decay, childhood and relationships. She received her MFA from Mills College in 1997, a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1990 and a BA with a major in English literature from the University of Michigan in 1987. She was a live-in assistant to Sally Mann from 1993-1995. She has lived in Denmark, Prague, the UK and Norway. While in London she taught at Cavendish College, the London Institute and Byam Shaw School of Art. Since August of 2002 she has been an Assistant Professor of Art at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. |
